Rising young conductor Otis Klöber has emerged
as one of conducting’s outstanding new talents.  Read more.

Otis Klöber has a wide symphonic repertoire, conducting orchestras including
the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the
Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Russian Chamberphilharmonic St. Petersburg.
His repertoire spans from Mozart and Beethoven to Brahms, Dvorak and Wagner, from
Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Stravinsky, to Andriessen, Mishory, Rihm and Gubaidulina.

In Asia he has conducted the Hamamatsu Philharmonic Orchestra of Japan, and in Europe,
the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe, the Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra Lodz,
the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra,
the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Staatsorchester
Rheinische Philharmonie and the Russian Chamberphilharmonic St. Petersburg.
In 2011/2012 he conducts a wide variety of repertoire with orchestras including the
Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, the Hamamatsu Philharmonic Orchestra,
the Russian Chamberphilharmonic St. Petersburg and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe.
He will also return to the Netherlands with the Russian Chamberphilharmonic St. Petersburg
for performances in Rotterdam with a “Russian Night”.

As a bassoonist he has established himself not only as solo bassoonist with major European orchestras
(London Symphony Orchestra / Mahler Chamber Orchestra) working with great conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Georg Solti, Valery Gergiev and Vladimir Ashkenazy, but also primarily as chamber musician at the highest level.

In 2006 he made the decision to give up his bassoon career and dedicate himself solely to conducting.
He subsequently studied conducting and was invited to follow masterclasses with Salvador Mas Conde
(Vienna Master Courses), Jorma Panula, Kurt Masur and Bernard Haitink and took up posts with the Deutsch-Niederländische KammerPhilharmonie (Principal Conductor), and sinds 2012 the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe (Principal Conductor and Artistic Director).

Otis Klöber`s international conducting-career and prior his chambermusic-activities brought him to such venues
as the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Luxor Rotterdam, Hamamatsu Concerthall, Izumi Hall Osaka, Tonhalle Zürich,
Royal Festival Hall London, Vienna Konzerthaus, Berlin Philharmonie, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, as well as to renowned festivals including the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Charlemagne Music Festival, Summerwinds, Rheingau Music Festival, Biennale di Venezia, Lucerne Festival and the Vienna Modern.

He has a number of recordings to his credit and has recorded for Naxos, Pan Classics, VMS, LTE-Records, Brilliant Classics and Berlin Classics. In a recent live-recording with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe for the orchestra`s own POE LIVE Classics label he conducts works by Bizet, Mascagni and Brahms’ Second Symphony.
