Otis Klöber is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra
of Europe. His current concert season includes performances with orchestras in Germany,
Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and Japan. Besides plans with the Philharmonic
Orchestra of Europe, important debuts and re-invitations include engagements with such orchestras
as Czech National Symphony Orchestra, The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, WDR Chamber Orchestra Cologne, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Hamamatsu Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra Lodz, Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz, Russische Kammerphilharmonie St. Petersburg, Chamber Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen, Camerata Salzburg, amongst others.

The German conductor Otis Klöber, who has emerged as one of conducting’s outstanding new talents, was born into a musical family where he started singing, bassoon and piano lessons at an early age. Since 2004 Chief Conductor of the Deutsch-Niederländische KammerPhilharmonie and since 2010 Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe, Otis Klöber had established himself not only as solo bassoonist with major European orchestras (London Symphony Orchestra / Mahler Chamber Orchestra) working with great conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Georg Solti, Valery Gergiev and Vladimir Ashkenazy, but also primarily as chamber musician at the highest level before pursuing successful a career as conductor. His international career brings him to such venues as the
Amsterdam Muziekgebouw, Luxor Rotterdam, Hamamatsu Concerthall, Tonhalle Zürich, Royal Festival Hall London, Izumi Hall Osaka, Berlin Philharmonie, Vienna Konzerthaus as well as to renowned festivals including the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Charlemagne Music Festival, Summerwinds, Rheingau Music Festival, Biennale di Venezia, Lucerne Festival and the Vienna Modern.

Otis Klöber works with such artists as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ronald Brautigam, Andreas Frölich, Klara Würtz,
Sergey Dogadin, Liza Ferschtman, Uta Kunert, Antje Weithaas, Natalja Gutman, Vladimir Mendelssohn,
Peter Bruns, Clemens Hagen, Fine Arts Quartet, Mendelssohn Trio Berlin, Dimension Trio London, 
Albrecht Mayer, Stefan Schilli, Dimitri Ashkenazy, Emily Beynon, Tine Thing Helseth and Radovan Vlatkovic,
just to name a few. A strong advocate of contemporary music, Otis Klöber has performed a great number
of works by composers including Louis Andriessen, Wolfgang Rihm, Isang Yun, John Zorn, Sofia Gubaidulina,
Chen Ziaoyong, Gilead Mishory.
Otis Klöber studied bassoon with Klaus Thunemann in Hanover and Berlin and went on to study orchestral conducting with Vladimir Ponkin (Tschaikovsky Conservatoire Moscow) and in various masterclasses with
Salvador Mas Conde (Vienna Master Courses), Bernard Haitink, Kurt Masur, Jörg Bierhance and Jorma Panula.

Otis Klöber has recorded for Naxos, VMS, Pan Classics, LTE-Records, Brilliant Classics and Berlin Classics.
In a recent live-recording with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe he conducts works by Bizet, Mascagni
and Brahms’ Second Symphony for the orchestras own label POE Live Classics.
