Music unites – limitless. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe (POE) presents concerts of the highest quality. It fulfills an international obligation and successfully unifies professionalism with emotion, captivating with its dynamic quality of sound and flexibility. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe, established in 2004, comprises 80 members coming from all over Europe. It functions as a beacon of understanding, setting an example of rapprochement amidst cultural plurality and national diversity, giving impetus to a social union.
Principal Conductor Otis Klöber succeeded in furthering the already excellent national reputation of the orchestra to an international level as well. Young musicians from all parts of Europe visibly added to the orchestra’s splendour. Today the musicians appear ranging from chamberorchestra repertoire to large-scale orchestral concerts with the symphonies by Sibelius, Tschaikowsky Bruckner and Mahler. As well as invitations to the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the Berlin Konzerthaus and the Concerthall Amsterdam the orchestra tours abroad. CD recordings and symphony concerts, as well as the performance of ensemble works for string- and
wind-instruments offer an impressive repertoire, ranging from classical to contemporary.
With members of renowned stringquartets as section leaders and its further high-ranking musicians – many of them are first prizewinners from international competitions such as ARD International Music Competition, Tschaikovsky International Music Competition or hold principal positions in leading orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House London – the Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe enjoys the highest artistic standards.
